Dishdale Terms of Use

Effective: 26 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Siddharthkumar Patel ("we", "us") about your use of the Dishdale app. By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Our Privacy Policy explains what the app keeps about you, and how to export or delete it.

What Dishdale does

Dishdale plans your household's meals for the week around your budget, your store and your food rules. It builds a grocery list and walks you through cooking.

It's a planning aid for personal, non-commercial use. The rest of these terms cover what it can and can't promise.

Your account

• The app creates an anonymous account for your phone automatically. You don't need an email or password.
• You're responsible for what you enter, including the people you add to your household. Only add people with their knowledge.
• You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your household and its data from your phone and our server.
• Your data is lost if you uninstall first. Without sign-in, uninstalling the app or losing your phone loses your household. There's no way for us to restore it.

Free and Pro

Free plan. Dishdale has a free plan, which lets you plan a new week every week and swap one meal in each week you plan. Re-picking a week whenever you like (Rebuild) and unlimited swaps are part of Pro.

Dishdale Pro is an optional subscription:

• Billing periods: it's sold monthly or yearly, at the prices shown in the app before you buy.
• Free trial: new subscribers may get a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, you're charged for the plan you chose.
• Auto-renewal: a subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• Billing and cancelling: Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handles the payment. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your Dishdale account doesn't cancel it.
• Refunds: these are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We can't issue refunds for store purchases ourselves.
• Changes: we may change what Pro includes or what it costs. Price changes follow Apple's and Google's rules and never apply to a period you've already paid for.

Prices are estimates

Every price in Dishdale (the cost of a meal, your week, or your grocery list) is an estimate:

• it's based on typical prices for your country and the store you picked;
• we don't read shelf prices, flyers, deals or receipts, and prices in your store will differ;
• budgets and totals are there to help you plan, not as a promise of what you'll pay.

Food, allergens and health: please read

• Allergen filtering is based on ingredient lists and can be wrong. Dishdale filters recipes using the diet rules and allergens you give it, checked against the ingredients it knows for each recipe. Recipes, ingredient lists and product formulations can be incomplete or wrong. The app can't guarantee a dish is free of an allergen or safe for anyone to eat.
• Always check every ingredient, product label and recipe step yourself, especially for serious allergies, intolerances, medical diets, pregnancy, babies and young children.
• Dishdale doesn't give medical, dietary or nutritional advice. Nutrition figures are estimates calculated from ingredients. Ask a qualified professional about your health and diet.
• Cook safely. Follow food-safety practice (cooking temperatures, cross-contamination, storage), and use your judgement with heat, knives and appliances. Cooking times and steps are guides.

Using the app fairly

Please don't:

• copy, scrape, resell or redistribute the app's recipes, photos or content, or use them commercially;
• reverse-engineer, interfere with, or overload the app or our servers, or try to reach data that isn't yours;
• use the app to break the law or anyone's rights.

We may suspend or end access for anyone who does.

Our content

The app, including its design, recipes, photos, text and software, belongs to us or to our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the rules of the store you downloaded it from.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Dishdale running, but we don't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may:

• change features, recipes or content;
• pause the service for maintenance;
• stop offering it.

If we stop the service, we'll tell you in the app beforehand where we reasonably can.

Disclaimers and liability

• "As is": to the extent the law allows, Dishdale is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes accuracy of prices, recipes, ingredients, allergens and nutrition.
• What we're not liable for: to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. We also aren't liable for any loss arising from:
  • food you choose to buy, prepare or eat;
  • a price that turns out different;
  • data you lose by uninstalling the app.
• Cap: our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Dishdale in the 12 months before the claim.
• Your statutory rights: nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law where you live that can't be limited by contract. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Apple-specific terms

If you downloaded Dishdale from the Apple App Store:

• These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). Beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation. We are responsible for any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses that result from a failure to meet any warranty.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the app, such as:
  • product liability;
  • failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements;
  • consumer protection;
  • intellectual-property claims.
• You confirm that:
  • you're not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or one designated as "terrorist supporting";
  • you're not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
• Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these terms on how the App Store licenses apps, it prevails.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Dishdale after that, you accept the new terms.

Law and disputes

• These terms are governed by the laws in force in Ontario, Canada. Disputes go to the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them somewhere else.
• If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
